Character Name: Dinobot
Canon: Transformers Beast Wars
Canon Point: Right after his death in "Code of Hero"
Character Age: vague shrug ("Adult" because Cybertronians don't age like Humans)
History: "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so."

Division: SECURITY
It's the natural position for Dinobot to have. He's a natural-born soldier, so handling security of the voyage would be something he acclimates to easiest.
Edict: THE SORROWWELD
A being locked in eternal conflict, searching for the peace everyone can have... there's a lot about that Dinobot sympathizes with.

Powers: Technically speaking, all of Dinobot's power are native to his systems.
- Transformation
All Cybertronians have a mechanism that allows them to transform into an alternate form with its own abilities and factors. Typically, they are vehicles, but as a participant of the Beast Wars, Dinobot's alternate form was re-calibrated into a "Beast Mode". This Beast Mode being of a Velociraptor (with all the appropriate abilities of a regular prehistoric dinosaur).

- Proton Lasers
Exclusive to Dinobot in his robot mode is the ability to fire green laser blasts from his eyes. These are tied to Dinobot's Energon supply, and can cause him considerable harm if they drain him too far.

- Weapons
In his transformed state, Dinobot's "tail" turns into both a rotary blade he wields as a sword and a spinning... shield-type thing that he can occasionally use to hover. These parts turn into his tail upon entering beast mode.

As the Ascendants deemed your character worthy of being on this exploration voyage, what qualities did they observe in your character that they found appropriate for the mission?
Likely, the Ascendants witnessed Dinobot at his absolute worst, and at his absolute best. shortly before his death, he betrayed his Maximal allies to return to the Predacon side when it became apparent that he was mistaken. His honour on the line, he betrayed Megatron again to save the life of a Maximal, and was welcomed back with semi-open arms.

Brought back into an awkward situation, bereft of the honour he values so much, and worried about the nature of his fate when it's become known that it can be so easily changed, Dinobot struggled on. If his life wasn't in his own hands, then what point was there in being?

However, he gets his answer. When the Predacons attack a valley containing the source of humanity, Dinobot leaps into action on his own. Acknowledging that his choices are his alone, even though he knows, in his heart, that he has no choice at all now. He will end up dying to save humanity, and no Predacon was going to stop him.

As he lays dying, Dinobot makes his sense of self clear; he's a bot who made both good and bad decisions. He was a warrior who fought to the last, and he wants nothing more than to be remembered as such. The rest... is silence.

What is your character's best quality, what is their worst, and how do these two qualities affect each other?
Naturally, Dinobot's best quality happens to be his honour. He stands out among the more sadistic, belligerent Predacons in his willingness to defeat an opponent fairly. He has pride and, though he might loathe to admit it, morals that outclass any of his former comrades. He'll chide the Maximals for being soft but he's more like them than he realizes, and credits Optimus Primal for his own bravery. It's this honour that keeps Dinobot on the side of good, despite his old tendencies.

This honour is so strong that it persists even after Dinobot's death. When Megatron creates a crude, frankenetein-esque clone out of a blank protoform, part of Rampage's spark, and Dinobot's cells, it's ruthless and shares none of its original's positive qualities. But while the Maximals believe there's nothing left of Dinobot inside it, his spirit still manages to break through enough to turn on Megatron once again, dying again in the process.

Conversely, it's Dinobot's pride and rashness that often lands him in hot water. Early on, he constantly vies for leadership of the Maximals. Believing himself to be the best option for it whenever Optimus is absent. Although, unlike a certain Decepticon, this never comes up more than him stepping up to offer his position. This also causes him to repeatedly butt heads with the rest of the Maximals, especially Rattrap, who he frequently threatens. Outside of his typical "warrior's spirit" he's prone to acting spontaneous and foolish, especially as his explosive rage gets the better of him.

Your character's Edict appears in front of them, and agrees to grant them one wish: what does your character wish for?
The Sorroweld, enemy of time, the Endless Knight, The One Who Waits. As it stands before Dinobot, he is faced with such a question that... he cannot answer. No, he cannot bring himself to answer.

An end to the sorrow? The sorrow he had already ended? His future was within the Allspark of Primus, not onboard this shuttle to parts unknown. Were he to go back in time to the attack on the valley? Find a different means of defeating Megatron without suffering critical damages? Or, perhaps go even earlier, to a point where he could have brought the entire Maximal team to his assistance.

Or... perhaps he could go back to the start. Alert the Maximal security and prevent the theft of the Golden Disk from ever happening in the first place. History would truly change, he could he hailed a hero... But any choice he had made, his choices, would be reversed. And those of others. It wouldn't matter, none of it would.

It's a question he must ruminate on, as he has multiple times before. Given the choice of affecting the past to save the future... Dinobot would likely chose to decline. But what of his other options? Does Dinobot need anything? He's a warrior hungry for battle, hungry to preserve his valued honour. What more could he need?

Peace? Perhaps... Peace would be nice. Between the Maximals and Predacons, he knows all too well that the Beast Wars was but a small, if vastly important, skirmish in the midst of greater conflict back on Cybertron. If he were to quell the animosity, then there would finally be peace between the many factions. But that's a silly wish, isn't it? Should he think of something so selfish, making himself the savior of all Cybertronians.

Truthfully? This question would keep Dinobot up at night. Why should he be granted the power - why should ANYBODY - have the chance to grant their deepest wish? It should be on them to achieve it themselves. And yet... would it be selfish of him to not take the offer. An infuriating conundrum that would leave Dinobot unable to answer at the time, if at all.

The Theorem has broken down, and is drifting toward a black hole. There is very little hope of outside rescue. What does your character do?
Technically speaking, Dinobot has at least some technical knowledge and would attempt to lend his meager assistance in whatever repairs would be necessary to achieve an escape velocity from the black hole.

However, he is neither a scientist or an engineer like his allies. But he is a very perceptive sort. So, it would quickly prove apparent to him that there is little reason to attempt an escape at all. Surely, the honourable thing to do now would be to face the end as a group, brave in the face of uncertainty. He's not much of a calming presence, but he would try to console the others when they realize they have no chance of making this situation better.

He could technically go into stasis mode and ride this out however it goes in blissful unconsciousness. However, he's a stubborn asshole, and refuses to give himself that kind of easy way out. No, he'll stand by at the ready, a brave and loyal soldier to the end. Nobody would be able to say Dinobot fled from uncertain doom. Perhaps, it's possible, that the hole would bring them somewhere else. That's a calming thought to have.

If anyone stayed away from the helm, he would assume command. If simply to ensure that a captain went down with the ship as it rightfully deserves.
